Alfonso, La Paz, Pescadero and Carmen basins (Gulf of California, Mexico)

Characterize Research

The sediments and pore waters from the suboxic, anoxic and euxinic open OMZ and silled basins of the Gulf of California provide fine-tuning for novel paleoredox and paleoproductivity proxies (e.g. uranium isotopes), by constraining their behavior during early diagenesis and potential abiological and biological controls of redox changes.
